In the beginning...

Rich and I used to work together... he was my first 'supervisor' at my former job. We both went to Michigan (GO BLUE!) and both loved hockey. That is how it all began, I had season tickets to Michigan Hockey, and no one to go with to some of the games.. so i took Rich. We became the best of buddies.. and started doing a lot more things togehter (red wings games, dinners, roller blading) and eventually he decided I was the girl for him. Took me awhile to realize he was right.. but I did come to realize that not a day went by that I didn't talk to him, or see him, and when it did, I was disappointed and missed him. (It didn't hurt that once I brought him home dad loved him and asked about him constantly..that's usually a good sign!)

And the whole ring/proposal thing wasn't that much of a surpise.. except one morning he asked me "So, what kind of diamonds do you like? I've got to know so I can start saving." Once we talked about it and decided we wanted to do it this summer, we picked out the ring from a jeweler in Brighton. The ring (see picture below) was picked out by both of us, and Dan, from The Jewelry Depot made it for us. He does terrific work.

Rich picked the ring up early and gave it to me the night before we went to the Red Wings playoffs against Colorado(6-0 win gotta love it!). He had planned on giving it to me at the game, but he was afraid if he gave it to me at the game like he planned (the whole big ordeal) that they would lose and I'd be in a bad mood. I thought that was very sweet, and hey, he still took me to the game to see the Wings kick Colorado's butt on their way to be the Stanley Cup Champions!!
