Day 2

Wednesday, May 13th

This is what it looked like toward the middle of the second day. Dad was there most of the day working on getting the elevation evened out.  He also took out quite a few dead trees and trees that would be in the way. Here's me (Tonya) running "grade" for Dad on the dozer.  The laser sits on the tripod, as you see in the front.  The beam spins and hits the receiver I have on the measuring stick (not that you can see it) and tells me if Dad needs to add or remove dirt to get that area the same elevation as the rest. Here's Rich on the Excavator.  He not only got to learn how to use it, but got to pick up rocks from around the land (BIG ROCKS) and move them (one at a time) to a big pile for later use.  It got easier as he went on I think.
