Cat People is a supercatamaran, 70 feet long and 38 feet wide (beam). Their website gives you the full story of the cat. It was used to circumnavigate the world three times before.
They offer various trips. We opted to take the 3 1/2 hour trip to the coast of Venezuela.
Dad volunteered to help hoist the mainsail. He knew what he was doing and therefore all the other "volunteers" could only stand back and watch. Unfortunately, there was a rip in the sail and so we ended up motoring most of the way.
Barb & Alex were also on this cruise - here's a photo of Alex & Rich.
Because of the sail not being usable, and the weather getting rougher, we did not make it to the coast of Venezula. Dad suggested to the captain that he give us all free T-shirts. So he did!
It was a
very nice trip. If you can handle riding on a cat -on the open ocean
- (rocking) we recommend this trip! But be sure to book in advance
to ensure you get aboard!
