Happy Father's Day Dad!  Thanks a TON!  Glad you like your new drill!     Today we made a lot of walls in the basement, in addition to insulating the outside walls.  This is the wall that faces the walkout side.  The door way toward the right goes into the furnace room.     Here's dad getting a wall ready.     As you can see here, its very important to lay out a wall properly in order to assemble it and raise it. This is the wall for the other side of the stairs.     Here's Rich building partitions for the walls.  These are used when in one wall where another wall will meet it, so that they can be nailed properly together.     All but one set of our doors came today.  The glass doors are double doors for our walkout and deck, only one set of them came today.  The other doors are for the front and going into the garage.  Dad wanted us to go for the fancy glass doors, but at this juncture we're not sure that is what we want, not knowing the area that well yet.   Although we did concede to half glass for the garage door on the walkout side, to allow more natural light in there.     You can barely make it out here, but the concrete in the garage is full of dust in the photo.. concrete dust.  Dad cut the large slab into eight sections to allow for expansion and contrasting.  As he says if you don't do it neatly now, mother natural will do it messy later!   Sunday we all took the day off, it was 90 degrees at 10 A.M. Saturday, and promising to be worse Sunday.  It was a good day to have off!!  Monday the basement walls get finished.
