The Tamarijn

We stayed at the Tamarijn All-inclusive.  The "Tam", as it is called, is just west of Oranjestad.  We read up on the area and hotel prior to our trip on many of the Aruba websites.  One in particular allowed you to see what others though, its the Trip Report section on Visit Aruba.  But, don't believe everything you read, not everyone thinks like you!

We enjoyed our stay at the Tam.  There was always somewhere to eat if you were hungry, though as travellers know - eating away from home is never the same as near home.  The staff was nice, the maid service was excellent.  One tip - if you like variety and don't drink - all-inclusive won't be for you!  We ate breakfast and dinner there most nights, but didn't eat enough to make the all-inclusive price tag worth it.  Oh - and you can ask for the 'Deluxe Oceanfront Room' ($35 a person more) and have access to both the Tam and the Divi Village.  We did, but never used anything at the Divi Aruba, though we heard the restaurants were pretty good.

This is the view from the beach East of the Tam.  The beach itself was good, although I'm not one for constantly laying out doing nothing.  There were lots of shade huts - with more constantly being built.  And of course, lots of beach chairs.  You could go to the 'water sports' hut on the other side of the resort and get swim mats, windsurfers and the like.  We never used those because we were constantly doing other things.

As you can see, the view from the rooms was phenominal.  Unlike other resorts, every room at the Tam is oceanfront & oceanview.  (the difference being right on the sand or across the street from it).  Places like La Cabana, Divi Village (not the resort) and many others are across the road from the beach.  We stayed in room 1918, a 'second floor' room with a small balcony.  If you want beach level - just ask, they can usually help you out.

The rooms are rooms.  Having travelled extensively, I've come to realize all rooms are basically the same.  The only difference is if you have an in room fridge (Tam doesn't though hear some of the others do).  You don't spend that much time in your room besides sleeping (which we tended to do in the afternoon.)
